Beyond Nursing was created by Dr. Melani Bell. Bell’s dedication to helping individuals and companies reach their fullest potential led her to create this remarkable organization. At the heart of Beyond Nursing's mission is a commitment to equity and safety. Recognizing the immense challenges faced by healthcare professionals, Beyond Nursing was established to provide support, resources, and opportunities in various settings. Beyond Nursing goes beyond the traditional role of a nursing agency offering staffing in various clinical and non-clinical settings to include private healthcare sector and government agencies. In addition to providing staffing solutions, Beyond Nursing engages in strategic consultations to ensure the highest standard of care and enhance the overall functioning of healthcare institutions.
Meet Dr. Melani Bell
Dr. Melani Bell is a published professional Registered Nurse with a career spanning over two decades. Bell earned her undergraduate Associate Degree in nursing from the University of the District of Columbia. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Healthcare Policy and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Healthcare Systems Leadership from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Bell’s career expands across numerous healthcare sectors to include acute care hospitals, federal government, and military health.
As a nurse consultant she’s lent her clinical expertise to clients in need of subject matter experts in acute care, clinical and non-clinical case management, Health Information Technology (HIT), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), and academia. Bell remains on the frontline of healthcare delivery as an inpatient Nurse Case Manager as well as a Visiting Professor for bachelor and master degree nursing programs. She’s also a mentor, preceptor for doctoral students, actress and film producer. As an active member on several advisory boards she focuses on healthcare, academia, and scholarship. Bell utilizes her Healthcare Policy education to make contributions to the legislative arena by providing testimony on healthcare and nursing bills. Her contributions earned her recognition in the Capital Gazette, Associated Press, The Doctors (television show), and The Washington Informer (newspaper).
Bell’s distinguished honors include being named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by the Daily Record in 2022, recipient of the First Annual Distinguished Career in Nursing Award from Chamberlain College of Nursing 2022, Official Citation from Senator Arthur Ellis Maryland General Assembly for her “Immeasurable Impact on the Profession of Nursing in Maryland” 2021, and Year of the Nurse Outstanding Mentorship award in 2020.
